Stefanie Kurtz IXth International Conference on Boar Semen Preservation 2019

Stefanie Kurtz

I am Stefanie Kurtz and 26 years old. I studied veterinary medicine in the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Foundation (TiHo) from October 2011 to March 2017. Currently, I am working as a second year PhD student in the Institute of Farm Animal Genetics, Friedrich-Loeffler-Institute, Department of Biotechnology in Mariensee, Germany. In my PhD project, we investigate the putative role of the porcine SRY in the male sex development. Furthermore, we want to generate a boar, which produced only female offspring by introducing an integrative CRISPR/Cas construct into the porcine Y-chromosome targeting multiple sites on the Y-chromosome bearing sperm during spermatogenesis preventing development of Y-sperm.
