Inmaculada Parrilla
Diplomate in Veterinary Medicine by the University of Murcia (1998), PhD from the University of Murcia in 2005, with the thesis entitled “Advances in the sex preselection of porcine offspring by sperm sorting”. She passed two years (2006-2008) as a postdoctoral researcher in the Dpt. of Biotechnology. Institute for Animal Breeding (FAL). Neustadt-Mariensee, Germany (currently, Institute of Farm Animal Genetics”. Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut (FLI). From 2008 to 2013 worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the University of Murcia (Dpt. of Animal Medicine and Surgery, Faculty of Veterinary Science) and from 2014 to the present she is working as an Associate Professor at the same department. Her research is focused mainly in porcine reproductive biotechnologies with special dedication to study and optimization of boar sperm cryopreservation and /or sex-sorting by flow cytometry, proteomics of the boar seminal plasma and spermatozoa, development of techniques for insemination with low or very low sperm number and development and optimization of surgical and non-surgical embryo trasnsfer procedures in swine. Author of more than 100 research papers published in the JCR index, researcher in more than 20 research projects and national and international research contracts. Supervisor 6 PhD Thesis. Member of the European Society of Domestic Animal Reproduction (ESDAR, from 2002 to present) and Diplomate of the European Collegue for Porcine Health Management (ECPHM, from 2010 to present).
